Voter Registration
As part of our voter registration initiative, we had four members assist with voter registration at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Marade event in Denver on January 19.
Pat & Frank Gacnik, Betty Goebel and Veronica Goodrich were working with the Denver League of Women voters and the Denver Election commission.
We were also able to spread the news to a number of people about upcoming voter education programs and make new contacts with others involved in voter registration of minorities.
Contact Betty Goebel at 303 403 4521 for additional information.

PeaceJam support
The Arvada Peace and Justice Commission subcommittee on Peace in the Schools is working on ways to support the efforts of PeaceJam in area schools.  One piece of this effort is to have more people become aware of the work of Peace Jam.

We hope you will pass the word to others through your church, service organization, or other network of like minded people.  PeaceJam is a tremendous resource headquartered right here in Arvada.  We will all benefit by its association with our school children.  To sign up or for more information, call or email  Phyllis Bunting

Or call Jes Ward at 303-455-2099 or see http://www.peacejam.org.
